Mumbai: Gopal Raheja, the realty tycoon might have fought against his son Sandeep and daughter in law Durga till his last breath, but at the end he gave all his wealth to the same man.
The will in May 2007 had no provision for his daughters Sabita Narang and Sonali Arora . The will reads as follows: “I give devise and bequeath all my estate, properties and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situated including all my movable and immovable properties to my son Sandeep Gopal Raheja absolutely.”
Gopal Raheja, the founder of the INR 11,000 cr realty group accused his son Sandeep saying he was trying to usurp his business of 25 companies. He also filed a petition at the Bombay High Court in late 2012 but still wanted an out of the court settlement till his death last month. The case could not be settled till his death and thus the next hearing had to take place this month.
Since 1960, Raheja had been an active developer known for the residential developments across Central Mumbai including Worli, Bandra, Khar, Santacruz, and Juhu as t is one of the biggest private land owners in Mumbai.
